Crash and Burn

what depresion is to me

Cash and burn
Fall to the floor in utter exhaustion
Tired form the fight
The struggle for strength
Lost to the darkness of depression.
The chemicals in your brain
Sabotaging all the progress you have made.
Your own body betrays you
And becomes the enemy
Slipping you the wrong chemicals
To push you over the edge
Causing your demise.
Your own body becomes the thing you fight.
The thing you punish on the bad days.
Your own body is the thing
Forcing you to fight for your own life.

i think the last four lines are amazing the way they are. the core of meaning. it's totally true.
depression makes you fight against your body but then your brain mentally guards it and wants to fight back.

Your own body betrays you
And becomes the enemy
Slipping you the wrong chemicals
To push you over the edge

just curious but have you ever suffered from depression? because it sounds more like experiences or maybe secondhand accounts.
