A Poem by dovetailer
"

fair weather friends

"

Please

A moment of your time will do...

a moment’s all I need...

I’m feeling really fragile now...

I need a friend...indeed...

I need an ear to hear my sigh...

a voice say “It’s OK”

a hand to hold for .comfort...strength...

a hand to point the way...

A shoulder I can lean on now...

just for a step or two...

a wee bit of encouragement...

to do what I must do...

The pain is more than I can bear...

my tears don’t seem to end...

I hate to ask...but ask I must...

I really need a friend...

Strapped down by this indignity...

life really dealt a blow...

to yield me this one kindness, friend...

will mean more than you know...

They saw my tears and trembling lips...

my plight that brought me low...

they heard me plead then said to me...

“I’ve really got to go!”

to have a friend that we can be that honest with is a good place to be

We make ourselves a place apart
Behind light words that tease and flout,
But oh, the agitated heart
Till someone find us really out.

'Tis pity if the case require
(Or so we say) that in the end
We speak the literal to inspire
The understanding of a friend.

But so with all, from babes that play
At hide-and-seek to God afar,
So all who hide too well away
Must speak and tell us where they are.

Robert Frost

I sometimes offer before I'm asked, but if I miss something, yell out . . . I'll be along as soon as I can get there.
