Ten and Counting

Ten and Counting

A Poem by Brown Eyed Girl
"

Tenth anniversary spent on Kauai. Thoughts that came to mind on the beautiful shores. We find a way to make room and makes changes for the things we love in our lives. Enjoy.

"

Try to fight the conscious thought
It beats you every time
Like waves rolling
On steady winds
You will be pulled
Planted toes in sand
Cannot keep you near the shore
When tides rush in

I love you today
As I loved you then
That will always be
Steady as the waves we rush
I am yours as you are mine
And that stands fast
On waves of time

Take me there
Where we belong
I hold you
As you take me

Gentle yet firm
Soft, yet unrelenting
I see now why your loves runs deep
Through fierce waves that would
Tear trees from their roots
Break shells from their gentle grains
We hold fast
To each other

As time beats down
The fragile shores
We hold strong
Forever more

We hold strong
Till we reach the shore

About
I love to read, I love to write. I have been a lot of places and done a lot of things. In that time I have found writing to be one of the most satisfying pastimes. I make no claims to being any good.. more..
