How I Loved You

How I Loved You

A Poem by divey

She: "All I see are spaces
grim, condescending,
meaningless, cold
decorations on this orange-sky parchment."

He: "Grand gestures, coveted reality.
True emotion decrying the filth.
For if black and white be love,
I smell neon green.
Orange is but peace."

She: "Say what you will,
actions sour grapes.
Lilting sense of self defense.
And from what I forebode,
your forehead stinks.
I give you a week.
Take the hint, pun intended."

He, smiling: "For if my fate be purple,
damned I am for eternity.
I bid you well, sayonara.

But monsters who stay under,
are known to wait.
And wait I will,
for you will be there.

You fall, you don't
I lose either way.

And damned I am,
true that is."
