"Careless"

"Careless"

A Poem by Dragon of Poetry

He pushed her away
The small thing only
wanted his arms.
A helpless child in need
of her father.

He consumed his poison,
Which made the small
Child's stomach turn.
She knew it was bad.
She knew he didn't give
the least bit of care.
But still she tried.

Shoved off the chair,
Away from him.
Yelled at to  "leave me alone!"
She heard "I  don't care about you!"

But regardless the little girl
Only wanted her father.
As does every small child.

The tall man yanked
At the fathers collar.
Yelling at him,
Threateningly.
Pointing at the girl.

Protecting.
The innocence,
That was already shattered.
Protecting.
What could have cost,
The small girls life.
Protecting.
The girl from,
The Careless Father.

Then he left.
Twelve years  later,
And no where  to be found.

The memory.
Haunting.
The thoughts.
Remaining.

She asks
"Where  is he now?"
Only to hear,
"We don't know."
