The Weather Channel

Jenny, Jenny

Genesis says

That before there was light

There was water

A sea, chaos, a formlessness

Turbulence

Us

Singing, Singing

Drunk and soaking

In the dirty city rain that wipes us clean

We leave behind a whirlwind

We make our mark

A wake, a vapor trail

Through an eternal lake

And we hold on tight

And speed up

To outrun the sound

Of sirens, blaring,

Tearing up the night

I am us and you were me

Before we died

And became

It

I hope that the men

In the service

At the altar

In the temple

At the center

Of the world

In the heart

Of the universe

Inside the raindrops

That fall into our streets

Find what they seek

Before they burst apart and become

One with all the other worlds

In the sea

The abyss

The puddle that we step in

Us
