Dreamtime

Cuddle closer, the wind is cold
It’s never enough to be near
I want to feel your breath on my bones
Your words to come out of my mouth
Lay back in the sand
          So soft and so cool
A pillow laid out for us as if this was planned
Who knew
That tonight I’d be you
And you would be me as we watched the Earth rise
It’s so bright
Like a jewel in the sky
Set amidst velvet and the dark sacred space
And when the sun returns
          We will die
          And wake up anew
And drudge through our duties
And burn in the light
But at night
          We’ll return to this place
          To the face
Of the Man in the Moon
And here we’ll remain
For the rest of our lives
And they’ll say we can’t breath
          Or we’re missing our sleep
But every second’s a lifetime and every breath is a crime
          You suffocate me
With the look of your eyes
And I slip away and I rise
We’re together again in a place all our own
With the scene laid before us
With all the time in the sky
And the Earth, and the Moon
                                 And I’m always you
And it’s all in our minds
