short poem that i might end up incorporating into a longer, more substantial work

 

And we will walk down every road

And nothing will get lost

We will live out every memory

And time will wait for us

 

And no one will move on

And none shall pass away

No little newborn children coming

And everything will stay the same

 

And the sun will never set

And the leaves will never fall

We will never submit to winter’s grip

And we will stay forever warm

 

And what always was shall still remain

And the music will never change

There never be songs that we don’t know

And yet we’ll still grow old
