The Lending Library

The Lending Library

A Poem by drcornelius

I want to borrow a dream

I’ll only need it for today

I can give it back tomorrow

By then perhaps

I’ll have found my way

I want to borrow a measure of hope

My own is battered and shaken

I’ll return the loan in doubles

Once I emerge from the fog

of my making

Please won’t you advance me

a measure of love

You seem to have more than you need

I wish to have fields

of love to harvest

But right now

I can’t find a seed

I wonder if you could share a fine vision

I seem to be wandering  blind

If only I could see life more clearly

Perhaps it is truth I might find

Oh please won’t you lend me forgiveness

Self love is a heart healing balm

Perhaps if I could

just forgive myself

My storm would give way to calm
