When Other Folks Aint Like Me

When Other Folks Aint Like Me

A Poem by drcornelius
"

Written as a song

"

There’s a truth I have to tell you

Not the way I’d like it to be

But the fact is life is hard to live

When other folks aint like me

Uncle Jake is pure religion

He quotes the bible all day long

As for me I find my wisdom

In the belly of an old folk song

Now I know you’re spose to love folks

Especially if they’re family

But damn life sure is hard to live

When other folks aint like me

Auntie Ruth loves patriotic songs

Belts them out both day and night

Now as for me I love my country

But only when it’s doing right

Now there aint no stoppin’ Auntie Ruth

Not likely we’ll ever agree

But damn life sure is hard to live

When other folks aint like me

You and I are gonna have to talk

We might see eye to eye

If not I hope I won’t hurt your feelings

When I run off without saying goodbye

‘Cause here’s a truth I have to tell you

Not the way I’d like it to be

But the fact is life is hard to live

When other folks aint like me
