Lamentations

Lamentations

A Poem by drcornelius
"

Written as a song

"

You got freedom to choose

You win or you lose

Don’t be singing the blues

Time to pay up your dues

You can follow the leader

Don’t give it a thought

Or make your own way

Neither sold nor bought

You can follow your preacher

Fear of going to hell

Or shine your own light

Ring your own bell

‘Cause you got freedom to choose

You win or you lose

Don’t be singing the blues

Time to pay up your dues

Let words on some paper

Tell you what’s wrong or right

Or make your own life

Fight your own fight

Listen to the crowd

Just do what they do

Or do your own thinking

Then follow on through

We are condemned to choose

We don’t have a choice

To be lost in the choir

Or to sing our own voice

You got freedom to choose

You win or you lose

Don’t be singing the blues

Time to pay up your dues
