Ode To The Oblivious

Ode To The Oblivious

A Poem by Dreamwind
"

A Poem about marrying myself.

"

 And she married herself,

Took "her" off the shelf,

Released the bonds,

Had no qualms,

Of dressing in red,

Petals in her bed,

Tattooed skin,

She doesn't blend,

Nor does she want to,

At the zoo,

She's a white seal,

The real deal,

And she knows,

The wind blows,

Through her unkempt hair,

She doesn't care,

It feels delicious,

She's never malicious,

To herself,

She knows how it felt,

To hurt inside,

To hide,

From the hate,

Her plate,

Full of anger,

The danger,

Of possession,

The violence,

Of rejection,

The mangled love,

For the unimportant "stuff",

Of her soul,

They'd never know,

The real her,

The persistant slurs,

Of her existence,

"Good riddance!"

"She" loved HER most,

A toast,

To the engagement,

The arrangement,

Of joy,

No more annoy,

Tender kissed,

She'd never miss,

Those "oblivious,"

Her silliness,

Would be treasured,

Imagination measured,

In buckets of adventure,

No censure,

Her dreams precious,

Her laughter infectious,

To all who knew,

How true,

She was,

She'd love,

Herself again,

And again,

"Her" best friend,

And she knew,

How the end,

Would read,

She'd dream,

Forever,

Happily ever...

After.
