Beads

Beads

A Poem by Dreamwind
"

seeing beads everywhere after mardi gras

"

The flavor of New Orleans,
Purple, red and green,
Everywhere you've seen,
Everywhere you've been,
The colors glare,
Stare,
Out of the ordinary,
Dusty broken,
Just a token,
Of extravagant revelry,
Masked,
Tradition,
Superstition,
In chests,
Blessed,
Under a child's swing,
Inside a King...
cake,
Under the grass,
In stacks,
On the shelves,
Where elves,
Wander,
In off season,
No reason,
Is needed,
For everything,
Is beaded.
