DREAMS FROM ACROSS THE ATLANTICA Poem by dreezyLagos dreams, Afrocentric, emotions, feelings, home
You and I.
Sending our prayers, Over a blue field of salt, In tender thoughts. There was once us Hurdling the gutters in ecstasy, Pacing through the crowded roads, Tossing junks into our neighbors balcony. There was once us Residing at the heart of the market Pick pocketing for peer honors Eavesdropping at every corner As we table every ounce of rumor during our secret circle. There was once us Blinking our torches in the sky Just to create the perfect goodnight There was once us As embodiments of nonchalance With weekends of rudderless walks Counting the storey's of Marina While we discover new edges for promiscuity Then a festive of soccer awaits As the streets are sealed courtesy of our stick post This was life for us Till I moved for a better home Now we can only collide our dreams As you stand at the coastline of Atlantic Lagos And I, sipping from it's remains that spreads to me. © 2019 dreezyAuthor's Note
