I Had Hoped to Savour

I Had Hoped to Savour

A Poem by Aisha Mnd

Talentless

Yet, now is my golden age

The peak of my life,

But golden eggs are nowhere to be found

Endless Voyages

The sea is deep and blue,

The ship sails north, east, south, west,

But all are empty destinations

It’s Dark

Not an ignited candle is in sight.

Nightfall overlaps the bridge

To chocolates, bonbons, and

Every. Sweet. Thing,

I had hoped to savour.
