Only Silence Is Yielding

Only Silence Is Yielding

thirsty eyes are watching

piercing the echoing darkness

the pebble is descending

the ragged face is placid

yet parched fingers are arched,

unsteady in anticipation, as

he waits,

awaits the splatter

but

patience is leaking,

hope is fleeting,

and he hears the pair leave when

only silence is yielding

i picture a pebble thrown into the lake...and the lake waiting for its arrival...the splash

and thought of skipping stones in a pond.

and i saw this as an allegory..love is the pebble...i am waiting for it to splash into me, instead it skips over me...and patience and hope finally leave...i will not receive the pebble..i will be a still lake, alone..

and the silence is yielding to the chaos of a broken heart.

damn i like this poem.
