deep inside

deep inside

A Poem by william andrews

How do you

survive the day

when you know

deep inside

your liveing life

blind

how do you

survive the day

when you know

one day

the waves

of other peoples

pain

will come

crashing

on to your shores

to eroad away

all the illusions

that you pray

will stay

I wish I did as well. Some would say faith or religions. Others may hand you a bottle or a needle, maybe point you down the road to the best escort service they know. Either way, it is hard, damn hard, especially with those waves of pain that erode our shores as you say. Those moments take all of our illusions about life away and send them through one great big tree chipper until all we have left is what we thought we knew. This is a potent write and it makes us really think about all of these things on their own and at once.

Maybe the best place to start is finding a way to feel connected, to not feel alone. You know? To say, my brother, I will stand on this sinking beach with you, even if we fall into the ocean. I will swim with you when the tides come.
