Of my shattered ego

Bouts of depression

Too often I forget to breathe

Inhale is cleansing

Exhale is relaxing

Inhale is enlivening

Exhale is releasing

Inhale is a talisman

Wards off my shadows

Exhale prepares me

For the journey ahead

I must awaken

For what lies ahead

Life is not always
