Dark Strived Light

Dark Strived Light

A Poem by Dukesrunner

Let the light in.

Not to banish the dark,

But to join it.

To embrace the warmth,

Of a fireside’s night,

As each star rains down,

Falling to a world,

Devoid.

Rejoiced.

The blackest coal scorched

To sheen.

By dust and space

Off luna, by sol

Shines that peace

Through radiant turmoil.

Forcing fields green

And back breaking toil,

Till a world overgrown,

Burns near to boil.

And the seas filled with brackish oil,

Ignite.

The sky fills with smoke

Shielding out the lifeless light,

Drained into the earth.

The avarice stone.

Our home.

The dark.

Author's Note

Dukesrunner
Another comparison and contrasting of Light and Dark. Common theme, I know, but It's constantly intriguing me. I hate to say I don't have much else to comment about this one. It's been a long while since I've done any writing, and my flow of ideas has been slowing down... a lot. But nothing to do about it I guess. It's not impressive, it just is.
