Notiving the Bruises

Noticing the bruises,

She has them all over,

Her teachers ask questions,

She makes up excuses,

So she can keep her secret safe,

She doesn't want them to know,

That her dad is a drunk,

He beats her,

She doesn't know why,

She doesn't understand,

That he was beaten in the past,

She wouldn't know until he tells her.

I wrote this poem to ease the pain.
