Bad Romance

She watched her child,

Get smacked over and over again,

For nothing the child did,

She couldn’t stand what was going on,

She couldn’t get away from him,

The guy she fell in love with,

The way he hit her,

And their children,

She was in a bad romance,

She couldn’t get out of it,

She wanted to leave him,

But he would get custody,

Of the children,

She couldn’t stand that,

It’s not like she was on alcohol or drugs,

She wasn’t dead either,

But her husband would get the children,

And he was an abusive person,

She couldn’t stand,

This bad romance,

Back when she was seventeen years old,

She had met him,

They got married a year and a half later,

He had changed when she got pregnant,

He became distant,

She was losing him,

The second time she got pregnant,

He started to smile again,

But then started to get abusive towards her,

She was in a bad romance,

She sits there and cries,

As she watches him beat the children,

Over and over again,

She wants to defend them,

But she doesn’t know how,

She wants to get out,

Of this bad romance,

With her husband,

She wants to take her kids,

With her,

But she won’t get custody,

She needs to get out,

Of her bad romance,

Her bad romance,

Filled with abuse,

Of both her,

And her children,

Who she loves dearly,

She misses the good days,

Where she wasn’t stuck in this bad romance.

This poem is scary being abused myself as a child I know what its like.... Its terrible, and the b*****d outta been shot instead of given custody
