Glorious Day

Glorious Day

A Poem by Eric Wagner

A glorious day has started for me,

the sky so clear and open and free,

song birds chirping inside a bougainvillea tree,

royal palms swaying slow and gently,

everyone around feels this energy,

their conversations flowing so merrily,

joy is just spilling out of me.

Such a glorious day I never dreamed could be,

heady feelings fill me with glee,

pouring over my soul slow like honey,

painting a rosy smile on my cheeks,

lifting the gravity from beneath my feet,

making my thoughts rhyme and sing,

centering them on the greatest possibility,

the one which I never did see,

a chance to live and be,

entwined in such harmony,

tangled so inexplicably,

in this web of ecstasy,

with two hearts beating to one heartbeat.

A glorious day has started for me.
