A Badly Broken Code

A Badly Broken Code

A Poem by Alicia Franken

a badly broken code
is all i am to you.
numbers, emotions,
words...
but not a person.

don't you care
what this means to me?
what you mean to me?

it's all a blur.
it all happened so fast.
i guess numbers
and perfection
never last.

I thought this was really well done. A nice play on the sacred number/perfection concept. Numbers have so much meaning, and are, essentially perfect. And the metaphor here was one I had never really considered before, which made it feel fresh.
This was very creative and strong in structure. I'm sure you'll get excellent feedback on this in your class!
Very classy and beautiful.

A code can be broken and remoulded with truth:) This is lovely! xx

Poem is very good. It had purpose and reason. Being disappointed in being treated people as numbers and machines leave us sad and pissed off. A excellent poem.
