DEAR ILA

DEAR ILA

A Poem by EchoDevriCrow

I don't think I've ever told you how much you mean to me.
Even though the world tore your body apart, limb by limb.
Your spirit is what kept your heart beating.
You're my guiding light,
Even though your time has passed.
I feel my tears in twine with the fading memories of you and me.
Only if I had a chance to say goodbye.
But father time called you before my final tear dropped.
I was told never forget what you were taught.
You've raised me from the broken pieces of your daughter.
You made me who I am today and I thank you for that.
May you rest in peace Grandma.
You deserved so much more then what this world had to offer.
Only if I could reach past the clouds and hold your hand in mine for one last time.
