Here I Am

Here I Am

A Poem by Edith McCann
"

An autobiographical poem I wrote for my 10 year old son.

"

take me to the moon and back

walk across the sea

dance among the daffodils

cry with the sycamore trees

dream with calling mockingbirds

and waste away the hours

watch lilacs fall on myrtle beds

while streetlights start to beam

it’s only home and yet it is

the place where I began

in all the restless sounds and moans

it’s here, and here I am.
