A Poem by Ed Hart

it would be nice

not to be bent

like this tree

carrying the curve of the hill

the wind does it

or someone in childhood

who plants fear in our roots

it would be nice

to disappear

into a woman's heart

dancing can do it

until we call for more wine

to fuel our crowded feet

no sense wanting

what wasn't made or graced

it's just i can't help noticing

this old world growing older

missing you Ed...your wisdom and your special brand of humor, and of course those words, ohh, those words.

Posted 1 Year Ago

Missing the interaction with such an interesting and talented soul whose poetry always filled my mind with questions and inspiration. Just thought I'd drop by to leave a note to that effect.

Oh, how I miss our engagements.
Your spirit, and poetry
are immortal.

Poems are immortal. So it is wonderful to see and hear these words read by the poet. (Cherrie, did you say that Ed is not writing new work....?) Bless all poets for what they share, and the insight they give us.

I miss seeing new works from Ed. But man it sure is great to swing by and visit his work.

Ed, this is gorgeous gorgeous. Your succinct phrasing gets straight to the heart of the thing like an arrow. As always you speak with a worldly knowledge, and I can't help but listen

As i listen to the birds singing in this moment, your words take me back to yesterday and walk with me into my fearful future... Within the blend of your words, I feel the urge to dance.

I empathise, Ed-superbly put!

It would be nice . There may be no sense to the wanting yet desire fuels us does it not? And sometimes if we are lucky the outcome may be some beautiful poetry like this. Nice to see you!

Nice to see a face to the work. So that's what a poet looks like! Lol jk.
