Greatest love

Greatest love

A Poem by Edward Lancheister
"

Memorial of my dearest beloved

"

Put my bag on the table after work

Capture of sight into your picture

Travel back in time when I still hear your tap toe

Welcome embrace when I back home from reading scripture

Set a dinner at the table and start a simple conversation

Where have you been son ? how your day ?

Just reply with a smile and  gently  say

“It was good I got my lesson

She reply with a smile and caress my head

           “ good boy

Sacrifice of a single mother to raise her beloved

Pure love, compassion and honestly she kept in my head

Play the piano, sing a song, the most lovely sounds I ever heard

Sing along together a soulful and jazzy sound, we have never been apart

Dance around with full of joy, so much happiness that makes me glad

A memory that will never could be replaced

Even now,  you rest eternally in the creator loving arms

And all I can do just touch into the stone of your grave

Where your body buried deep from the surface

Your voice still reverberates in my heart

my soul still dance into your song that beat

The Greatest Love I ever had

You do a wonderful tribute here. Easy and obviously spontaneous flow of words right from your heart where in memories are stored, locked safe. No wonder, the greatest love you ever had.

a memory that could not be forgotten. thank you Norah. :)
This was a very loving, heartfelt piece. I think everyone can understand the loss felt when a parent passes, but depending on the closeness to the parents, the pain of loss can deepen. The way you wrote this piece was brilliant. To channel so much emotion into words, that's a gift unto itself. Beautiful memorial to your mother, Edward.

I thought this was very heartfelt and passionately written, Edward. Great job! The only small suggest that I might give falls in the closing line! I would put it together and make it a more powerful closing:

Your voice still reverberates within my heart,
And my soul still dances to your song,
About the greatest love I ever had.

thank your Grace for kindly review and your suggestion it mean a lot to me
I enjoyed the warmth surrounding the memories. And was right there with you in the poem's somber present, "And all I can do just touch into the stone of your grave". Very honestly written and beautiful for it. Thank you.

Yes, a mother's love is the greatest love ever in most of us. Some found their greatest love in other faces, other personalities. You are lucky with your mother.
This is so touching. I am wondering if what kind of mother I would be in my child's eyes in the future.
Good job! Keep writing.

thank you Dhaye for stop by and give review. you always be the best mother for your child.
I wouldn't exactly say I felt pain, but more love and memories that you obviously cherish. The sadness was evident. It is written in such a simple, yet graceful way that I just sense that it was easy to write because the love was genuine.
