Empty Vase

Empty Vase

A Poem by Edward Lancheister
"

furniture with memory

"

A vase near the window

Silent witness of moment

Many gift of flower had been stored

With various expression

A moment of joy

Tears of the brokenness

A Sign of sympathy

Love of the lover

Comfort from the grieving

Credit for the achievement

Give a new vigor

or just a simply favor

You still left empty

With lots of memory

Drain without water

Only an empty space at the corner

Small part of the decoration

Left with dust and shadow

I like the ebb and flow of this poem, which describes the vase as the life of a person. The vase has seen glorious times, but is now alone, forgotten, unused. From birth, to youthfulness, to middle age to old age, it has experienced and seen it all in the world of floral tributes.

The beauty of this piece is how you brought the vase to life. The simplicity overwhelmingly beautiful.

Thank you Mr. E for stopping by and the review :)
Something small like a vase is magnified in your thoughts .. the vase is personified to be someone who had abundance of blessings and wishes.but now is void of all that covered with dust.liked the idea Edward.. keep writing amigo :)

This is a really smart and unique way to show the passage of time and a relationship. Yet the vase itself is representative of someone that was once fulfilled and now empty. Great job.
