Imagination

Imagination

A Poem by Efxaris Arampatzi
"

"Imagination" is a poignant poem capturing the contrast between the dreamlike nature of love and the harsh reality, blending longing, imagination, and heartache.

"
Once upon a beautiful, delightful time
Dreams from imaginations came true in real life
In my own imagination we are in love
And wish upon stars in the sky that shine bright all night long

In my imagination I don't have to do anything or even try
In my creative mind you too fall in love with me at first sight
Just by looking into my eyes you think "she's the one"
But in this real life nation you found your girl and I'm not the one

In my dream-world, you'd never break my heart, you wouldn't dare
For once, you'd care, not just in passing, but truly be there
You'd notice the little things, what I do and what I see
Watch me in my dress, taking a walk, barefoot by the sea

In my imagination I can see the tuxedo you'll wear
I can see people throwing rice that ends up sitting on your hair
Each kiss we give feels like a promise we share
But in this real life nation the only thought of you I'm told to have, is bare

I beg you to imagine our happily ever after
One like a fairytale where we are together
If I was lucky nobody would have to imagine it, it would be true
But in this real life nation some are born blessed, some are cursed, so what should I do?

Author's Note

Efxaris Arampatzi
I haven't posted anything in a while and I apologize for that so I decided to post these lyrics that I've been writing the past month! I'm working on a big project at the same time so I will be posting a little less frequently from now on but I'm very excited about this so I can say it's worth it! This poem is about the guy I used to like, as you may know his name is Chandler in my writing world but his real name is different which of course I will not share. It's about my dreams that I had about him which I hoped that he'd have too until now, now he has his own lover and I'm very happy for them. Now I've lost interest myself, I see him as a really good friend honestly! And also the line with the rice on the hair refers to the Greek tradition where guests (family, relatives and friends) throw rice at the bride and groom since rice symbolizes fertility, prosperity, and good luck, basically wishing them a happy marriage with lots of children!

You write so well. And this poem fits my daydreaming so well. It's definitely a universal thing! And I really think we've all created a world to escape the cold, unsuitable reality of life. Right? I really hope so. Because I was so caught up in my own fantasy world that I even had difficulty in real life! And when emotions are so intense, you need a world like this, where anything is possible. I really liked the details in your poem, I understood what you meant very well because we have similar cultures and you placed it very well. and you should definitely share more poems when you have time! you are really successful and I am so proud of you. Your words are special. you write with complete innocence and meaning. and very neat, completely fluent. I write as if I'm lost in chaos and I love the order in your poems.
Hope everything is perfect in your life!

Just by looking into my eyes you think "she's the one"
But in this real life nation you found your girl and I'm not the one
this hurt me so bad

we all like to imagine a perfect prince, who comes with kindness and love…but in real life that usually doesn’t happen, though some are lucky…..I think dreaming and imagining are good for the soul…. and if luck goes your way….then you will meet a prince charming…….
very nice!
