The Fish That Drowns

The Fish That Drowns

A Poem by elle.discovers
"

Pure, total, raw honesty. How it feels to be lost.

"
I am drowning.
In an unknown world; a fish in open air.
I am drowning.
A moth following the flames of candles
all blown out.
Traveler of light; swimming in darkness.
I am lost.
Once so determined,
so sure;
Now
so
helpless.
Hapless.
Old soul; young mind.
Confident in the end
but how to find the means?
Time to justify.
To live.
First leap; bird falls
falling
falling
spread your wings.
But where has the wind gone?
Nothing to catch you
Will wings be enough?
Old soul; young mind.
Lost heart.
One so tired should have more to show.
However will I know?
Return to water.
Can you see the light?
No.
It remains the time of darkness;
gasp on, little fish.

About
I have recently discovered that though I am perfectly comfortable being me, sometimes I don't know who that is. I'm old enough a to begin life as an adult, but young enough to get away with having no .. more..
