Nothing

I am empty,

Hollow eyed,

Colourless,

Nothing.

I feel nothing.

 

I see how they look at me,

See their furtive glances,

I am a mad woman,

Not a daughter.

 

I feel nothing.

 

They whisper,

I don’t care.

I am okay.

I smile.

 

I am hurting.

 

They avoid my eyes,

I look away.

I smile.

It is hard.

 

I can’t stand it.

 

I run.

I scream.

I weep.

They watch.

 

I feel nothing.
