Mutual (?) Attraction

Another insomniac poem, this time about feeling clingy. Enjoy.

You have me going insane,
Or making me feel like I am...
I haven't decided which.

You attract me to you so I feel like
We're two magnets pulling together
In a mutual connection that we both feel;

Then the next minute you have
Me feeling like I'm a leach
Manifesting and trying to draw out
Every ounce of your love like a parasite.

And I can never tell if you want me,
Or if I just want you to want me.

Everyday is a constant worrying,
Taking a tentative step towards you
And embracing every bit of what you are,
Before retreating back to myself
When you suddenly say you don't want me
In a dizzying speed that leaves me
Hungry for your addictive poison.
