Waters

Waters

A Poem by Shy

Ruthless waters that dragged me away
I tried to reach you out, they got in my way
For lone ages I've roamed this place
In slow pace, yet it felt like a race

Anger and hatred burst out from my heart
Another fool, lost that followed the blind
I cursed my life, and cursed the world
Most importantly, I cursed your name whole

Yet I grit my teeth and fall to my knees
Because you are the Most High, and had mercy on me
Such abstract feelings and ideas I can never brace
How come I still cannot understand your grace?

This is when the world spat on me and threw me out
Ah, death was always so close, I wanted to touch
Your voice sounded so peaceful, so I stopped
So endlessly I had waited for this moment to come

I tried to get away, but you followed behind
You kept stopping me, you kept grabbing my arm
No matter how many times I told you to leave
You never did, because you wanted me free

Broken heart that shattered to pieces
Loving, tender, warm and silent peaces
I am yours, and you are mine
Everlasting rest in your lovely arms
