oh mirror, dear mirror

oh mirror, dear mirror

A Poem by emia

oh mirror, dear mirror

oh mirror, dear mirror you MUST be mistaken.
my reflection isn’t yours to hold,
but for me to weep!
Thick eyebrows and protruding nose
don’t forget my manly hands
that can easily extract behind Xanax’s endless dose
I envy the stains which lay upon the bathroom counter
for they have no worries, no feelings for those they encounter
I notice my flaws, and turn from depression.
My voice is silent, no words to express them.
Its hideous I know they scream UGLY to my ill-pierced ear.
But my eyes are vibrant like shining headlights on a deer
I grasp a liking for one feature that’s KINDA extraordinary,
its behind the bedpost rested near candles of st. Mary.
I close my eyes & I must see no more,
I sense darkness right down to the core.
I dwell in emptiness where radishes are sweet,
and escape the world where my feelings are just defeat.
