TELL ME HOW YOU'LL FEEL

TELL ME HOW YOU'LL FEEL

A Poem by Mirror
"

A laugh of simple life

"

Tell me how you’ll feel

When you enter taxi and turn to canned sardine

How will you feel if one of the sardines

Seating next to you cries she has missed her period

Tell me how you’ll feel

When you enter bus and buy a fish body spray

Then a toothless man next to your bill

Tells you women still fight for him at seventy

Dear please explain this to me

How you get a lift in a Lexus jeep

Then the car owner offers a change

Saying, ‘the distance was free except for the jeep’

Waooo ! This is a poem very rich in imagery & metaphor. The paradox of living in this part of the country is well Captured. The regretful state commuters are treated, the smelly & rotten gestures of our old men(chiefs, politicians, etc)to our young girls. And also the young girls who has refused to represent womanhood in the right sense of it ; but has choose to flirt around such 'old fools '. However, the poem is weird as keeD chuckled. Nevertheless, I think that is the beauty of poetry. It has to be a hard nut to crack.

Thats funny!
Welcome always Mirror!
This poem drew laughter but had me amazed too. How imaginatively you took common, everyday unseemly situations and turned them into such humor-filled metaphors! A very enjoyable read!
