I Can Hear It

I Can Hear It

A Poem by Emily
"

The spirit

"

I can hear the spirit

Calling my name

I am not sure where to look

Other then the

Windowpane

But the only thing outside is spring

I am trying to trust my faith

Hoping I am just hearing things

I keep hearing the spirit,

But It's a seeker now

A seeker of something I don't have

You can see the ring on the carpet

It's a perfect circle from me walking on it

I would just be reading my book

But this spirit has me worked up

I hear the spirit again

It now wants a destination

To a place I've never been

The spirit

Is starting to

Change the arrangement of my house

This is starting to just make me mad

I am not scared anymore

My fear comes in only waves

Now

I am not going down without a fight

Review: This kind of writing challenge sharpens all your writing skills and brings out your creativity, I can't think of a better writing exercise. Looking at your word list and how you used them, I can only applaud your insight and how they add to your story. Paranormal is trendy so you picked a good topic, So good luck with the contest :~) Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Interesting poem. The idea is rather spooky, but I like the tone of determination at the end. Something you don't usually see in "ghost story"-type pieces - very unique. The image of making a ring on the carpet from pacing as also cool. Nicely done!

A spirit that move furniture? Spirit and wife would struggle.
