The False Hope of Caesura

The False Hope of Caesura

A Poem by Emilybe

School- is stressful
I am expected
after high school
to go to a higher school
upon which my future- depends
and I am a meteor
rushing towards my future- and future decisions-
at the speed of light
faster- and faster- faster still
until one day-

I
       will
                   collide- withtheearth-
inashatteringimpact

or maybe I'll miss Earth altogether- and wander
aimlessly for the rest of my life
or maybe collide with another planet- the wrong planet
not Earth

It would be easier if everything would

But I'd like to be hopeful and believe that no matter what happens I'll end up on some planet and even if that planet isn't Earth, it's still the right planet for me. I believe God has a plan.
