Sorrow

Sorrow

A Poem by emilythestrange

Sorrow

" Oh what sweet sorrow! "

Was once words spoken,

But no sorrow is sweet,

For sorrow is like the sun behind a cloud,

Sorrow is like Santa's funeral,

Sorrow is like the child inside you dying,

It's like discovering you have no imagination,

It's like a losing your wallet,

Sorrow,

" Oh what unsweet sorrow"

Are the words that should have been spoken

"It's like losing your wallet" - I had to chuckle at this. Your description of Sorrow is extremely true. I cannot find anything about this piece that I don't like or is out of place.

Thank you
I always wondered about that myself! How could parting be "sweet sorrow"? You hit it on the head here.
"Sorrow is like Santa's funeral," fantastic...it was a sad one, indeed! Captures the time when we discover that the magic is not coming anymore.
So many great lines. Nicely done.
