The Moth

A candle lamp is on the table

The book is ready to tell a fable

A story of reality that everyone should capture

An inspiration that we need to nurture

 

Attracted to the light produced by the candle

The moth was curious to see and mingle

Unmindful of her mother’s significant reminder

"Don’t be deceived you’ll be in danger"

 

Eager to know what’s behind the light?

Following the rule is difficult to fight

Secretly planned his motive for the night

He left her mother and went to his flight

 

He was so frantic to explore his adventure

Leaving behind the teachings of her mother

As he flew nearer to the burning candle

He felt so tired and started to kindle

 

When he was about to become breathless

As his body was falling and started to melt

He thought of his mother while closing his eyes

Tears fell down with unheard goodbyes

 

Knowledge fills the mind when it is empty

Forgetting its value will make us guilty

Glowing light can be so enticing

But a cake is unhealthy with too much icing
