Call for Blood

Call for Blood

A Poem by kazzy

Balanced on the edge of the knife

It gleams in the light of the unforgiving sun

Calling to me with a gentle, haunting tune

Begging to be reunited with my veins

Overpowered by desire to take my life

It whispers to me deep in the dark

I hear it most when the world is completely silent

Or sometimes, when it rains

In my mind there is too much strife

I barely know what’s even keeping me alive

I would give in to the siren’s call

But my actions would cause too many stains.
