Rubbish

Rubbish

A Poem by Gordon
"

I have lost two close people in my life to suicide. I could never summon all the words or emotions that must be raging through ones mind in those times but yet I try anyway.

"

Throw it away, throw me away
Take me to the curb like rubbish
Banish me to a life of solitude
Within heaps of hopes gone south.

Bury it today, bury me away
Hide my shame like a slug in the slough
Forget my faults so cracked and crude
Disarm the revolver perched in my mouth

Bang, Bang, Bang at the door
A friend?  A crack of light?
Amid the tears and embrace
Revelation endured

I was never the rubbish
I was never the slug
I was always forgiven
I only needed a hug
