Long Road (Neverland)

Long Road (Neverland)

A Poem by Emunah June.

We always have a long way to go.

With our eyes looking towards an ever-winding future
Confusion is inescapable
Still we move because we want a Neverland
A place where we can unfurl our wings and fly
Fly towards love, hope, and a new light

Still, we have a long road to walk on

Fall through the lies and hate
Past the web of uncertainty
And take my hand.
Sure, our feet may get blisters
But that's what happens when you walk
The long road.

We can't fly, we can't run, we can only walk
A Neverland is hard to obtain
Because Tinker Bell doesn't exist
A long road like ours
Isn't sprinkled with fairy dust
Rather, the whistling of the midnight train.

Our long road
Is walked by many
But still we feel alone
Like 1000 eyes are too much to ask for
No owls, no people, no Peter Pan
No tour guides to tell us our next move

We're starving, we're dying out here of thirst
But still we need to walk
Still we get what we need.

We'll arrive at our Neverland
After we've walked our long road.
