My dreams

My dreams

A Poem by emz

Don't watch my eyes

you can't see them

stop touching my skin

you can't feel it

Halt your mind

on mine

for you will never know

how dark

how deep

it goes

keep from whispering

into my heart

it won't wash

you can't get close

as much as you want too

broken heaven

broken hell

I'll be gone

Don't chase my dreams

they're not yours to chase

Don't try to catch my rainbows

they will disolve

in your murky hands.

There is a wonderful strength underlying this poem. It is almost.......defiant - but in a good way. Yet woven within it is a glimpse of a person who perhaps once left vulnerable by trust betrayed now resides within an invisible armor to protect themselves. I just adored it, although I could be completely off base in my perception. In any event, that is what resonated with me and I always love when a poem gets me contemplating - the sign of a very good poem in my opinion. Great write!

Very beautiful. I love the imagery. I work in dream interpretation so I particularly loved this.
Thank you for sharing.
