CHANGE

About life changing so fast the transition of going from a child to an adult.

All within a year or to 

its funny how much has changed,

friends from school once so close

to just a quick look exchanged.

 Memories with friends

 some ill never forget,

 some poor decisions 

 i kinda regret.

Growing up and leaving school

trying to get a job or drive a car,

life sometimes seems so cruel

and your goals seem all so far.

Sometimes you don't feel ready

to grow up oh so fast so quick,

Sometimes you want a pace that's steady

Time moves to fast...... tick tick tick.

The world is hard

life is full of change,

Sometimes life.... 

Life is strange.

Everything we know can change

and so can the people we see,

sometimes theres things we need to let go

Things we need to just let be.

Change can excite you

and change can be scary,

change can be sad

and change can be merry

Change is something

im starting to embrace,

I believe slowly my life

will fall into place.

Nice poem cimmy and a good theme to consider cause its very thoughtful and reflective and its a change from the love poems (not saying these are not important). It works best when it goes off-rhythm a bit and I don't think you need to focus too much on rhymes.

The best stanza for me is:

The world is hard
life is full of change,
Sometimes life....
Life is strange.

A thought comes to mind. - probably more relevant to me than to you. Being right means being unwilling to change, so being wrong is sometimes more important.

thanks robert i understand where your coming from with writing about something different improves you as a writer, being able to write about many things. I think im still best at love poems but i didn't do to bad huh :)

What a lovely poem! I love that i can relate to this easily. Which is a bonus! I love the rhyme scheme and the word choices that you used. The flow of the poem is decent. I got stuck on a few parts. You did great!
