NIGHT OWL!

A little poem I thought of while up late tonight :) please review :)

I'm a night owl how about you?

Up almost all night through.

Do you seem to do more at night, then day?

Its weird and funny how we like it that way.

The clock ticks, one, two then three and four,

You say you will read just a chapter more. 

The clock ticks five, six then seven and eight,

You glance at the clock, f**k that's late. 

The next night is peaceful, the best time to write,

So you pull out your pen, and think what you might.

You get to writing, and you just cant seem to quit,

You glance at the clock again, and think oh s**t. 

Writers think best at night when the silence creeps in,

with the kids in bed, a mothers me time can finally begin.

Night owls for whatever reason there might be,

Who else out there is just like me!

Very enjoyable read, Cimmy, because I consider myself as a night owl, too. Plus, I agree with the stated reasons especially about the 'writing' part. I usually sleep around 2 in the morning and my class starts at 7 so I often resemble a zombie the next day, making me unproductive at school. :(

You are really improving when it comes to rhythm although I noticed some minor off beats in this piece. Overall, this is well done, night owl! :P

Night owl here!

My good ideas come when I'm "drifting" into sleep and I have to prop myself up and write it down. That's why I keep a note pad by my night table. :)

Always seem to think better at night haha, when your laying in bed is when all your idea's come to you.
Think its because its more quite and we can think more late at night.

haha, this was awesome! A serious message brought in a humorous way! I loved it! So true, we writers seem to be wide awake in the moments we have a chance to sleep, at times that inconvenient but, hey, writing is better then resting anyway! The other night I was reading, fingering Ill just read a chapter then go to sleep, cause Iw as super tired, but once I got through the chapter, I was wide awake!
At times I hate that! But great write! I love that we, as readers, can relate!

Really a writer writes best in a peaceful atmosphere which is of my night for most people. So, its not wrong to be a night owl after all. As far as the poem is concerned it is amazing as usual and funny at places lije always. Its just that it is bit more lyrical than others, like a ballad or something. Thanks for sharing. Take care

I used to have a dog, actually he was like my brother.. Tuffy but after he died, we didn't get any. What sbout you? Have you got one??

yer it would have been to hard to get another.
I had 2 dogs growing up till i was like 9 or 10 so that was allot of years they died about 9 or 10 years ago now....
I have another 2 dogs now had them for about 3 years but there my dads, and we dont all live together anymore so i see the dogs when i go there.... He has a kelpie called Max and a red healer called Zack.
We have also had a cat called princess I have had her since i was like 5 and im now almost 21 so shes a huge part of the family.... I also have another cat called sasha had her about 5 years now. Yer lol.

No prob. I got so engrossed i didn't see message's length. Well i must say you have had a pet since ever with you. I wish i could have a cat though. Still fishes, birds, budgeries and even cows compensate for that.

I too am a night owl. Somedays I will try to write in the afternoon and just can't, then I wait till night and it's like all my thoughts are complete. Loved this one!

I loved this... I am an unintentional night owl... I go to bed early but can't sleep...when I'm lucky it's the words to a poem swirling around in my mind blender... when I'm not lucky...its just being an old lady that keeps me tossing and turning.
