GOD'S CHILDREN

GOD'S CHILDREN

A Poem by E.P. Robles
"

From a poet's perspective, the poem exhibits a lyrical and philosophical quality. It explores the theme of parenthood and the complex relationship between parents and children. The poet emphasizes the

"
And lo, a maiden cradling a babe so dear,
Beseeched, "Speak to us of children, wise seer."
And he, with gentle grace, began to say,
"Your children, dear mothers, are not of your own sway.
They are the offspring of Life's own longing,
Through you they come, their essence belonging.
They traverse this realm, born from your womb,
Yet their spirits, dear parents, transcend your room.
Bestow upon them love, but not your musings,
For in their hearts, their own thoughts are brewing.
Provide them shelter, their bodies to ensconce,
But their souls dwell in tomorrow, a realm pronounced.
Though you may yearn to shape them in your mold,
Remember, life's journey cannot unfold
Backwards, it strides not, nor lingers with the past,
Embrace the now, for this moment will not last.
You, as bows, launch your children's destined flight,
Arrows to pierce the infinite, reaching great height.
The archer divine, with strength His hand does wield,
Bending you, His instruments, with power concealed.
Rejoice, dear bows, in the archer's skillful command,
For He cherishes the arrows, swift and grand,
Yet, know He also adores the bow's steadfastness,
In harmony, both arrow and bow find blessedness."

A beautiful poem here EP. Much to think on and reflect. Yes parents or caregivers, their rolê is to nurture and encourage, not to indoctrinate. Our children are unique individuals and it always amazes me how siblings can be so different yet born from the same womb. They are on loan and I as a mum and raiser of three grandchildren feel blessed with the opportunity I have been given. I think your metaphors and imagery in your poem are inspiring. Have a great Sunday.
