The Three Bears 2009

The Three Bears 2009

A Poem by Eric Cox
"

A touch of humor.

"

The hunter's daughter got lost in a forest
she got lost on a hunt in a rainy mist
she found a house and knocked on the front door
no one answered, the Bears vacated home about 4
they went out to hunt for bloody tasty meat
it began raining hard, she got soaked to her feet
so into the Three Bears' house she walked right on in
the fireplace had a cozy warm fire burnin'
she sat nearby and her clothes began dryin'
she watched television with a grin
she also found their telephone
she called her Dad so she could go home
The Three Bears only found fish for their din
and they grew tired of the downpour they were in
so they headed on home in a big hurry
as the hunter's daughter gazed at their TV
They opened the front door
and let out a wild roar
a human was in their cozy home
they craved to devour her to the bone
the Three Bears lunged viciously at her
so she shot them dead, there was flying fur
her and her Dad ate bear that night
and it tasted just right

Thank you!
Excellent horror! I can feel my hair starting to stand on end. I prefer your dark version of this story.

Love this! The ending made me chuckle. A delightful take on the three bears tale. I like yours better. It has a nice amount of darkness in it. You wrote this with your usual skill and creative talent. You're a brilliant writer Eric!
