A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Specific Gravity

poster child for brevity

the wings clipped poet's

pen with makeshift strokes

strikes belatedly bearing buffered

themes through thickly amassed lines

throwing a frozen heart into thaw

and writing much more than

was ever needed

or intended.

Hey, with Global warming, that heart will thaw soon enough. Writing can be a great catharsis. It takes us away for a while. I like the alliteration here. Lydi**

thank you for your kind comment, gram,

That heart takes time to thaw. As it thaws, so does the brevity. The glacier melts and brings much more of a flow of words that have been kept under ice for so long. That where I went with this one Jacob. Great imagery.

love this interpretation, thank you for your words, Chris,
j.
For a poet who specialises in brief, pithy pieces relative density may well be the cloying memories that haunt him and he may be full of words that spew coldly upon the pages of time. Words put into sublime order.
