Ten

Ten

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Ten

her allure
caused a leer

shadow boxing eyes
swooped to the center of her ring

she casually threw a glance to the gut
he stumbled

her lips bled "I love you"
in silent count

and he went down for it.

that's when a woman in her powers :) she will make her man captive in her spell and the count down is at her command :) smart and playful one.

so true, lightsong,
thank you for your words,
j.
Kept thinking of the boxing ring here. My Dad and brothers were very fond of watching the big fights. The count to ten and it's a knock out. Perhaps in this case, there was no violence, but there was a knock out. Sounds like this bloke suffered for love. He went down for it. I read this poem in two ways, but this is the one I went with.
