in Spring

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in Spring

Mother, rock me in your arms

the safest crook

tender words whispered

I can fall asleep to the new world

the safest crook

I am relevant

feeling your heart next to mine

cognizant of something undefined

but known

felt

the safest crook

Mother, rock me in your arms

you are my song

I am the tiny notes

begging to grow into chorus

we will sing together one day

I felt that even when I was inside

the sound room of your womb

I could hear our beat beginning.

This is such wonderful poem of the strongest and purest bond on earth, dear Jacob. I strongly believe that a mother and child are never parted spiritually. You have captured so totally, this eternal beat and song. Just amazing and precious.

Thank you for your kind review, Divya,

The connection you have known and felt from the very beginning, keeping pace with another heart that shall always be a part of you, no matter what.
This has such a tender feel to it Jacob. Not that your words haven't usually, but there is a softness and warmth to your words that just let us hear that beat.

Thank you for your kind words, Lorry,

Mothers should, indeed, sing to those inside, and I wonder how many miss out on this opportunity, not realising, of course, that a being in a womb can hear, feel, experience. Thanks, J.

Methinks there is so much more than the obvious here in this well constructed piece. A mood and an atmosphere of peace and being warmed before it all happened.

thank you, kindly, Ken,

Some really memorable phrases like 'safest crook' and 'sound room of the womb'.
You sustain the mood perfectly, and it is only when I finished reading that I asked myself if there ever was a babe more eloquent than this. Not the point of course, because you express what is being felt and intuited at a pre linguistic stage of life. A real substantial achievement.

Wow one of the best heartwarming tribute to mothers, a great mother's day poem, indeed the mother's arm crook yayy is the safest crook to be in. Kudos!!
